Chasing the Light Since 1979

Since graduating from the Belfast College of Art in 1979, I have dedicated my life to capturing the shifting moods of the Irish landscape.

For me, painting is about that fleeting moment when the ordinary becomes extraordinary. Whether it’s a sudden break in the Mourne clouds or the detail of a wildflower often overlooked, I strive to make the mundane sparkle. Working primarily in watercolour and acrylics, my process is a constant manipulation of light to reveal the hidden drama in the landscape.
